Our Beginning

Kohmann Motors was established in January 2015 by the father and son team of John and Jim Kohmann combining their 83 years of experience in the automobile business with their established mower/power equipment business of 15 years. Kohmann Minerva Mowers was started in 2000, by John & Jim, in conjunction with their "new" car dealership in Minerva known as Kohmann Ford, Inc.

In 2005 the Kohmann's sold their Ford franchise but kept Kohmann Minerva Mowers; located at 107 E. High St. John managed the mower shop while Jim stayed at the Ford dealership for an additional 8 years as the General Manager and for the past 2 years has managed another Ford dealership. In January 2015 John and Jim decided it was time to reunite and open a Used Car Dealership along with the mower business.

Family-Owned Values

Kohmann Motors is a truly family-owned and operated business, with John and Jim were involved in the daily operations.

Growing the Business

In 2023, Jim partnered with Matt Leeders of Daystar Auto Group to form Daystar Powersports & Equipment, expanding offerings to include premium brands like Stihl, Cub Cadet®, Segway, Bad Boy, and Ferris.

One-Stop Shop

In 2025, Heritage Tire & Auto Care was added to the family of businesses, bringing certified Goodyear tire service and full auto repair to the same location.

Today, we're proud to be your one-stop destination for used vehicles, powersports equipment, tires, and automotive service.
